Number of Volunteer Blanketers for Florida Care Blanket Program Passes the 1,000 Mark in Just Three Months
Spreading Warmth and Hope Across Florida, Individuals are contributing their time and talents, making handmade blankets, quilts, and afghans.
Care Blankets, launched just months ago, is already making a powerful impact across the community. More than 1,000 volunteers have stepped forward to help provide warmth and comfort to those in need during the colder months ahead.
These incredible volunteers donate their time, talent, and generosity by creating handmade blankets, quilts, afghans, and more — each one crafted with love and compassion for someone in need.
Last winter’s unexpected cold wave reminded many Florida families how difficult chilly nights can be, especially for vulnerable individuals and those facing financial hardship. Many people simply do not have access to adequate heating or warm blankets when temperatures drop.
Thanks to overwhelming community support, the original goal of collecting hundreds of blankets has already been surpassed. Thousands of handmade blankets are now expected to be distributed to individuals and families in need throughout the community.
Local organizations and volunteers are coming together to help spread warmth, kindness, and hope — one blanket at a time.
